Frequently Asked Questions

Are your services covered under my workplace health insurance?

My fees for psychotherapy are covered under most health benefit plans because my therapeutic practice is supervised by a registered psychologist.  However, it is always best to contact your health benefits provider directly.  Ask for specific policy coverage details (e.g. coverage of all or a portion of your psychotherapy costs) just to make sure; every provider of health benefits is different.

How much do you charge and what methods of payment do you accept?

For each session (50 minutes in length), my fee is $165.00.   This fee applies whether you are seeing me for individual, couple, or family therapy.  I accept cash, e-transfer, or cheque payments.

What can I expect if I choose to do psychotherapy with you and how long will the process take?

Committing to therapy is both an important decision and process.  In the first couple of sessions, you can expect questions to explore your background and a deeper understanding of what brings you in and your therapy goals.   These initial sessions are particularly useful for you to decide if you, your partner, and your family feel a good fit and willingness to pursue this therapeutic journey together.

In terms of the length of the therapeutic process (e.g. frequency and number of sessions), this is determined by your specific needs and engagement.  We will discuss both upfront and in an ongoing way, key changes, milestones and progress check-ins.
